2005 Study Group Activities
In 2005 more than 400 persons across the Four Corners Region and state signed up to participate in the Study Group process via the web or at one of the meetings. On average, 150 participated regularly in meetings across the three study group locations.
Study Group members, with guidance from facilitators and public land agency staff, covered many topics, including:
- What are current conditions of BLM and National Forest lands?
- What kinds of uses and management are appropriate in different areas?
- Where is there need for a change in the management approach?
- What are the expected outcomes that can be anticipated from different approaches?
Study Groups met on a monthly basis between January and August 2005 in the communities of Cortez, Durango and Pagosa Springs.
